LAKE MONTEZUMA - Montezuma-Rimrock fire crews were called to a chimney fire on Nachez in Lake Montezuma Friday afternoon.
The owner of the log structure called when smoke began pouring from between the mantel and flue. The fire was put down within a couple of minutes, but crews had to pull drywall from the attic.

Damage is estimated at $4,000-$5,000.
The fire is another reminder that if you have not yet cleaned your chimney for the winter season, do it before yours is threatened.
